May 11th

This was my first day to visiting the Washington D.C. office. It is the headquarter of our company. I was so excited to see such a huge, gorgeous building. I met with the other team members and noticed that most of the US members had graduated from US universities. It makes me feel how difficult it must be to get a job in the US.

I had an interesting training session that taught me a lot. After work, I went to the Apple Store to replace my 2021 MacBook Pro. Although it still feels relatively new, the fan often runs loudly and gets quite hot. Additionally, it lacks the specs to play Baldur’s Gate 3. So I decided it was time to buy a new one. I tried to buy a silver model, but this color wasn’t popular among geeks so only space gray was available. Anyway, I’m happy to buy a new Mac with beautiful, high-end specs.

Tonight we had a happy hour, so I went there. However, there was no one from other regions - only members living in Washington D.C. It was so incredibly awkward that I just said I was leaving and went home. It hurt so much to feel like I’m not mature enough to hold a conversation with a group of colleagues I don’t even know, especially when they were all of the opposite sex.

This was our last night in Washington D.C. I went to a restaurant close to the office with my husband. It was so nice that we completely understood why this restaurant has a score over 4.7 on Google Maps. I ate the baked salmon, and it was cooked perfectly so that the fish was still moist. It was so delicious. My husband ate a hamburger, and he said the vegetables were so fresh and the meat was juicy.

This was the last day of my visit in Washington D.C. I’m flying to Orlando, Florida tonight. Before going to the airport, I went to Michaels, which is a famous craft store in the US. I was surprised that there were so many yarns and craft tools. I felt this was the real America, a place filled with quality goods. I bought a lot of yarn.

May 16th

I visited my aunt’s house in Orlando, Florida. She is my mother’s sister. We hadn’t seen each other for a long time. It was so nice to see her. We had a great time together, and her husband drove us to many places in Orlando. For example, we went to a state park, a beautiful beach, and ate rock lobster, which is known as local specialty. It was such a great time.

May 17th

This was supposed to be our last day in Orlando, but the flight was delayed significantly. We missed our connecting flight, so our only option was to change the flight to the next day. Fortunately, the airline provided us with accommodation and meals. So we could spend one more night in Orlando.
